Julie Erwin Rinaldi Named 2024 Grand Marshal

(Dublin, Ohio) – The City of Dublin is pleased to announce the selection of Julie Erwin Rinaldi as the 2024 Independence Day Grand Marshal. Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes, City Manager Megan O’Callaghan and former City of Dublin Grand Marshals selected Julie for her commitment to volunteering in the Dublin community for over 15 years. With this honor, she will preside over the Independence Day Celebration.

Julie has worked in non-profit counseling and community services in Dublin since 2009, when she was hired as the executive director of Dublin Counseling Center, which grew to Syntero, Inc. The organization focuses on mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention. Syntero partners with numerous Dublin organizations, including Dublin City Schools, City of Dublin, Washington Township, Dublin Police, Forever Dublin, Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dublin A.M. Rotary, Dublin Arts Council, Dublin Bridges, Dublin Food Pantry and many others to maximize each organization’s ability to serve resident needs.

Julie has been an active member of the Dublin A.M. Rotary since 2009, serving as president and Literacy Committee chairperson. The Rinaldi family enjoys volunteering together for the Miracle League of Central Ohio, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army and other local non-profits. Julie shared that “living, working and volunteering in Dublin is such an amazing blessing and privilege!”

Julie and her husband, David, have lived in Dublin for 27 years. He’s been her partner in life as they volunteered together over the years. They are the adoptive parents of two adult sons who were formerly in the foster care system and predeceased by David’s daughter, Kelly. In the past 10 years, the Rinaldis’ time and energy have been focused on their 10-year-old grandson, who attends Hopewell Elementary School.

The Grand Marshal honor is bestowed annually upon an individual or couple who has made a significant contribution to the City of Dublin through volunteer or professional efforts and has demonstrated patriotism through the development of community and/or community values.
